Josefa Badía Herrera

Josefa Badía Herrera obtained her licenciatura with honors in Hispanic Philology from the Universitat de València in 2002. Her thesis Los géneros dramáticos en la génesis de la Comedia: la Colección teatral del Conde de Gondomar obtained an award from the Universitat de Valènica in 2009-2010 and she is preparing it for publication. She has been a professor at the Universidad Católica de Valencia since 2007.

Since 2002 she is member of the DICAT group directed by Teresa Ferrer. As a researcher of this group, she is co-author of the Diccionario biográfico de actores del teatro clásico español. DICAT (2008) and is currently working on the project CATCOM. Las comedias y sus representantes. Base de datos de las comedias mencionadas en la documentación teatral (1540-1700) and Patrimonio teatral clásico español: textos e instrumentos de investigación, coordinated by Joan Oleza within the Consolider-Ingenio 2010 programme, both of which are funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. Between 2003 and 2006 she was a member of the project Diccionario de argumentos del teatro de Lope de Vega directed by Joan Oleza.

In 2009 she published a critical edition of Galán, valiente y discreto by Mira de Amescua and is currently working on a critical edition of El amigo hasta la muerte by Lope de Vega, which will be published in the Parte XI of this playwright's works that is being supervised by the Prolope group. She has written articles and chapters of books that focus on the manuscript circulation of classical theatrical texts, on the metrics of Golden Age playwriting, on theatrical genres, and on religious drama, among others.
